The SPIC MACAY Dibrugarh Chapter will organise a series of Hindustani classical vocal recital by renowned vocalist Pandit Omkar Dadarkar from 5th to 7th January, 2026 at select educational institutions across Dibrugarh and Tinsukia districts.
Pandit Omkar Dadarkar is among the most respected vocalists of the present generation and is widely admired for his refined gayaki and deep-rooted classical approach. Trained in the Gwalior and Jaipur-Atrauli gharanas, he has performed extensively at major music festivals and prestigious venues across India and abroad. He was also an awardee of the prestigious Ustad Bismillah Khan Yuva Puraskar.
The recital series will be held at institutions including Oil India Higher Secondary School, Duliajan; Delhi Public School, Dibrugarh; Assam Heights Public School and Budding Buds Senior Secondary School in Tinsukia; and Assam Medical College and Hospital (AMCH)in Dibrugarh.
Pandit Dadarkar will be accompanied by Mohd. Akhlaq on the harmonium and Anchit Majhi on the tabla, both accomplished accompanists in the field of Hindustani classical music.
SPIC MACAY Dibrugarh Chapter has been actively conducting various programs across government and private educational institutions, and in 2025 a total of 35 programs were conducted in various districts of Assam. The chapter continues its mission of bringing the finest traditions of Indian classical art closer to students through live performances by leading artists of the country.
