A 22-year-old commercial truck driver from Elk Grove, California, has been taken into custody in Dawson County, Nebraska, following the discovery of roughly $1.4 million worth of stolen data servers packed inside his semitrailer.
Law enforcement officials stated that Nebraska State Patrol troopers intercepted the driver, identified as Jaibir A. Singh, at a Cenex truck stop near Overton on September 25, 2026. The intervention followed a tip suggesting the 2018 Freightliner vehicle might be carrying illicit freight.

According to the arrest affidavit, shipping records showed the shipment originated in Libertyville, Illinois, and was intended for delivery in Virginia. Investigators working with a specialized cargo theft tracking unit tied the semi-truck to the missing equipment. Once authorities verified that the haul was stolen, they secured a search warrant to inspect the trailer, which confirmed the presence of the high-value data servers.
Singh was booked into the Dawson County Jail and subsequently faced arraignment in Dawson County Court on charges of felony theft and operating a commercial motor vehicle without a valid commercial driver’s license. He has since been released after posting 10 percent of a $50,000 bond. A preliminary hearing in the case is scheduled for October 26, 2026, at the Dawson County Courtroom.
